Aufgrund der andauernden Corona-Pandemie und der weiterhin damit verbundenen nötigen Abstandsregeln wird die Durchführung der Internationalen Polartagung 2021 als in persona-Konferenz im kommenden März als nicht praktikabel angesehen. Der Vorstand der DGP hat daher beschlossen, die Internationale Polartagung 2021 auf (voraussichtlich) Oktober 2021 zu verschieben. Sollte die Tagung abermals verschoben werden müssen, kommt als alternativer Zeitraum Ende März bis Anfang April 2022 in Frage. Details und genaue Termine werden zeitnah bekannt gegeben.
Für das SPP 1158 bedeutet das, dass das SPP-Berichtskolloquium, das traditionell als Teil der Polartagung durchgeführt wird, entsprechend ebenfalls auf den Oktober 2021 bzw. März 2022 verschoben wird. Allerdings wäre eine Kopplung des SPP-Koordinationsworkshops mit der Polartagung (wie ursprünglich für September 2020 geplant) terminlich zu spät. Da die deadline zur Einreichung von SPP-Anträgen die erste Novemberwoche ist, wird der SPP-Koordinationsworkshop 2021 daher wieder separat von der Polartagung im September 2021 durchgeführt, entweder in Präsenz oder digital, je nach aktueller Corona Situation.

Postponement of the International Polartagung until October 2021!
Because of the continued Corona pandemic and the required social distancing rules, holding the International Polartagung 2021 coming March as an in persona conference has been deemed unpractical. The committee of the DGP has therefore decided to postpone the Internationale Polartagung (tentatively) until October 2021. If the need arises to postpone the meeting again, an alternative time frame will be end of March until begining of April 2022. Details and exact dates will be published as soon as possible.
For the SPP this means, that the report colloquium, which is traditionally part of the Polartagung, will also be postponed until October 2021 (or March 2022). However, if the SPP coordination workshop were held together with the Polartagung (as was originally planned for September this year), this would be too late for new applications, as the dead line is in the first week of November. The SPP coordination workshop 2021 will therefore be held separately from the Polartagung in September 2021, either in persona or virtual, depending on the status of the Corona pandemic at that time.
