Summer School "Atmosphere-sea ice-ocean interactions in the polar ocean" - October 4 – 6, 2021

What are the effects of climate change on the ice masses in the Antarctic margin and what topics are currently being researched in Antarctica?

To answer these and other questions and to give students from different countries the opportunity to better study conditions in Antarctica, an international summer school will be held online from October 4 to 6, 2021.

The summer school is a collaboration of the University of Duisburg-Essen, the University of Cape Town and the University of Stuttgart.

Topics:
- climate models
- ocean-ice-atmosphere interaction
- large- and small-scale simulations of sea ice dynamics
- sea ice growth and formation
- cracking and failure of ice under load
- algal growth
