Press release: Great success – University of Rostock will be a mainstay of Antarctic research for another six years

For around ten years, Professor Ulf Karsten and his team (Institute of Life Sciences) at the University of Rostock have been coordinating and organizing the highly respected DFG priority program (SPP) 1158 “Antarctic research with comparative studies in Arctic ice areas”. This includes advising and supporting new applicants with regard to logistical questions regarding research work in the polar regions as well as regularly conducting and financing workshops to stimulate interdisciplinary research and generate new concepts.
