New press release: Rostock marine biologists are investigating the effects of climate change in the Arctic

Since 15 August 2022, the German Arctic researcher Professor Ulf Karsten from the Institute of Biosciences at the University of Rostock has been leading an expedition in Kongsfjorden on the west coast of Spitsbergen for a fortnight. He will be accompanied by Master's student Desirée Juchem from the Marine Biology programme. Together with seven colleagues from the Universities of Cologne and Berlin and the Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries (IGB), they will be studying marine and terrestrial organisms in the context of climate change.
